Here I am

Marie is a twenty something year old lady who proudly lives in the Philippines.  She has been in love with books ever since she can remember.  Her first “grown-up” book was Nancy Drew’s The Mystery of the 99 Steps.  It is still one of her favorites.

She favors mystery novels over other genres, but she sometimes reads romantic-comedies and sci-fi ones.  She loves Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare, Arthurian legends, Harry Potter, and Sophie’s World.  One of her missions in life is to solve a Sherlock Holmes mystery before the famous detective does.  Her current favorite book is Jasper Fforde’s Shades of Grey.

She is also a writer.  She wants to publish a very good story soon. Maybe when she actually has the time to sit down and write. It is her dream to be the next J.K. Rowling. Probably not in the same genre, but to be as accomplished as her.

She also watches a lot of TV shows.  Her favorites include Ally McBeal, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sex and the City, Bones, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Merlin, Sherlock, and more recently, Glee and Gossip Girl.  She loves almost everything Disney and still stands by her opinion that Aladdin and Little Mermaid are the best of the bunch.  She is also a big fan of J-pop and K-pop, and musicals.  She blames Kim Jaejoong for the former, and Sound of Music for the latter.

She is a big anime fan.  That is the main reason why she still wants to go to Japan.  And why, even after more than 10 years after since she started, she’s still studying Japanese by herself.

Marie is a hopeless romantic.  And now that she has found love again, she hopes she’ll get a good job soon.
